Real Fishy Guide Service offers private guided fishing trips in Pulaski, NY, a premier destination for Great Lakes salmon and steelhead. By focusing on specialized instruction and flexible access, the service ensures that guests spend their time in productive areas that many visitors never find. With a deep commitment to providing an authentic local experience, the guide tailors every outing to the specific goals and skill levels of the anglers on board. Having been born and raised in Pulaski, the guide has been immersed in the local fishery since childhood and began guiding professionally in 1998. This lifelong history in the area is a significant advantage, as local waterways change constantly based on migration timing and weather patterns. A guide who knows the various stretches of Pulaski’s water and nearby tributaries can adapt quickly, ensuring guests stay on the fish even when conditions shift. Guests can choose between drift boat trips and walk-in outings depending on their preferred style. Drift boat trips generally last 6 to 8 hours and are designed for those who want to cover a wide range of water efficiently. Walk-in trips offer a more intimate experience, providing access to smaller, secluded spots and quiet holding zones. Both styles are private, allowing for a personalized pace that suits both veteran fly-fishers and those new to the Pulaski area. The primary season centers on the king and coho salmon runs, followed by a steady steelhead season that lasts through late fall and winter. While Pulaski serves as the home base, the guide also utilizes surrounding tributaries and Lake Ontario systems when those conditions are more favorable. This versatility helps avoid crowded sections of water and provides guests with more consistent opportunities throughout the year. Beyond the fishing itself, trips include practical instruction on reading the water, gear recommendations, and bait presentation techniques. Guests often appreciate the chance to learn about the local community and the history of these seasonal migrations while navigating the water. For anyone planning a visit to Pulaski who wants an authentic, professional experience with a lifelong resident, Real Fishy Guide Service provides a reliable and knowledgeable choice.

We provide high-quality rods, reels, and all the necessary tackle or flies for the day. You also receive personalized instruction from a lifelong local guide on how to read the water and present your bait effectively to Pulaski salmon and steelhead. How much does a full-day fishing trip cost with Real Fishy Guide Service?Pricing varies depending on whether you choose a drift boat trip or a walk-in outing. Since our trips are private and tailored to your specific group size and needs, we recommend contacting us directly for the most accurate current rates for your Pulaski, NY visit. What is the best time of year to fish in Pulaski, NY?Timing depends on your target species. For the biggest runs of king and coho salmon, late August through October is prime time. If you are looking for steelhead, the season begins in late October and offers steady action throughout the winter and into early spring. Do I need to bring my own fishing gear for my Pulaski trip? While you are welcome to bring your favorite setup, Real Fishy Guide Service provides all the gear you need to be successful. We use equipment specifically chosen to handle the power of the fish found in our local Pulaski waterways, ensuring you aren't under-gunned when a big one hits. What should I bring for a day on the water with Real Fishy Guide Service? You are responsible for your New York State fishing license, polarized sunglasses, and appropriate seasonal clothing (layers are key). You should also pack your own lunch, snacks, and drinks. For walk-in trips, a good pair of waders is essential to access the best holding zones in Pulaski. Does Real Fishy Guide Service offer fish cleaning or filleting? Our primary focus is on the guided experience and instruction on the water. While we do not offer formal filleting services as part of the charter, we can certainly point you toward local Pulaski stations that provide professional cleaning and vacuum sealing for your catch. Can beginners book a trip with Real Fishy Guide Service in Pulaski, NY?Absolutely. We take great pride in teaching newcomers the fundamentals of the sport. Whether it’s your first time holding a rod or you are transitioning from lake fishing to moving water, we adjust the pace of the day to ensure you learn the right techniques for the Pulaski area. What is the difference between a drift boat and a walk-in trip?Drift boat trips allow us to cover a significant amount of water efficiently, which is great for finding active fish across different stretches. Walk-in trips are focused on more secluded, smaller areas where we can slow down and target specific holes or runs that boats can't always reach. Are trips with Real Fishy Guide Service private?Yes, every booking is strictly private. We do not "mix and match" groups. When you book with Real Fishy Guide Service in Pulaski, NY, you are securing the guide's undivided attention for you and your guests for the entire duration of the trip. How do I check availability for a Pulaski, NY fishing guide?Because the peak salmon and steelhead seasons fill up months in advance, we recommend reaching out as early as possible. You can contact us via our website or by phone to see which dates are still open for the upcoming run.
